HELL UNDER FIRE: Rob Bell and His Heretical Views on Salvation, Heaven and Hell

Rob Bell, Author of the new book Love Wins.
The doctrine of Hell as revealed in the Bible has long been under fire by people who toss aside Jesus' clear warnings about it, underestimate their own evil, and scoff at the holiness and justice of God. The latest scoffer is Rob Bell, the popular teacher featured in the NOOMA videos and author of Velvet Elvis. In Rob Bell's newest book, Love Wins, he suggests that all humanity has already been forgiven of their sins, Hell is what we create for ourselves in this life when we reject God's love, Hell is not forever, there will be no eternal conscious torment, etc. If you need help dialoging with someone who has read the book, or if you just need help understanding where and how Rob Bell has departed from sound doctrine, below are some helpful reviews of the book:

by Kevin DeYoung (author of the excellent book Why We're Not Emergent)

"Hell Under Fire: Answers to Skeptics' Top Ten Questions About Hell"
by Charlie Campbell (this is not a review of Bell's book, but answers many of the same concerns and questions that he brings up in his book).
